A magnificent traditional track

Travel just 3 hours from Edinburgh and you’ll arrive in the capital of the Highlands – Inverness – and the location of a breathtaking and unforgettable golfing experience.  This area’s rugged terrain, set within majestic mountains, castles and lochs boasts 5 world class golf courses.

A magnificent traditional track – golf has been played here from 1616!! – Dornoch is the home to one of the most outstanding, and favourite, front 9’s anywhere in the world. An original Old Tom Morris design, Dornoch Links is steeped in history and character – it’s the timeless setting that makes Royal Dornoch a ‘must-play’ course.

Located on the curving bay of the Dornoch Firth and its magnificent white broad beaches, the course is set into the softly contoured dune land rising in two distinct levels, providing just enough room for parallel fairways. The ridges, hillocks, dunes and undulating linksland have all the characteristics of the best links courses – and most of the challenges and difficulties. It is without doubt one of the best in the land!
