A step back in history

The ‘Birthplace’ of the Open Championship in 1860, the links have remained unchanged,  withstanding the test of time confirming its place in golfing folklore and one of the best golfing experiences in the world. Prestwick is a classic links course, built on rolling land between the beach and the hinterland.

From the first tee, when you stare out at the famous Railway Hole, the fairway hard against the stone boundary wall, you know immediately that this course offers something quite special.

Famous Prestwick Golf Club holes such as ‘The Cardinal’, the blind par 3 ‘Himalayas’ and the 17th ‘Alps’ remain as they were from those great early days of golf. Prestwick offers one unique golf hole after another and the memorable finishing stretch from hole 15 to 18 – occupying acreage barely large enough for one modern golf hole yet alone four, is one of the favourite closing stretches in the world.

Prestwick is indeed a ‘step back’ in history and an experience not to be missed.
