One of James Braid’s finest
Brora Golf Club, located some 20 miles north of Dornoch, is recognised as being one of James Braid’s finest pieces of work and is the most northerly golf memorial to the famous golf architect. Scotland has dozens of famous classic links courses but Brora is probably the least well known and certainly deserves to be discovered. The course follows the contours of Kintradwell Bay and has a traditional out and back layout hugging the North Sea coastline.
A ‘true’ links course you will enjoy the gentle undulating ground, the bent grass and beach sand, meandering burns and gorse lined fairways – and even a series of electric fences around the greens to keep the local grazing animals off the fast Brora greens. One worthy of adding to your itinerary if playing on the The Links Connection Highland swing.
