Open Championships Collection

If Scotland is the Home of Golf, then The Open Championship is at its very heart. Renowned as the oldest ‘Major’ in golf, ‘The Open’ remains the most celebrated contest in professional golf. Receiving the famous ‘Claret Jug’ and being bestowed the title of ‘The Champion Golfer of the Year’ is, and has been,  the ultimate dream of all of the world’s top golfers today and throughout history.

The first Open Championship was held in Prestwick in 1860. With a field of only 8 players, it has returned there on fifteen occasions, bettered only by St Andrews which hosted its first Open in 1873 returning every 5 years or so, the last time being the 150th Open in 2022. Royal Troon will host the 2024 Open.

Scotland has hosted the Open Championship more than anywhere else in the UK and our ‘Open Championship Collection’ provides the opportunity to experience the five courses currently on the Open rota plus the chance to step back in time and play two of the ‘originals’ – Prestwick and Musselburgh Links – you will indeed be walking in the footsteps of legends.

As far as golf goes this is as good as it gets and The links Connection will provide the opportunity to play for your very own Claret Jug as part of this tour!

Sample Itinerary

Day 1 & 2 – The Home of Golf

We start this tour in St Andrews in a luxury apartment in the heart of town, and only 800 yards from the first tee on the Old Course.

Walk in the footsteps of golfing greats and savour the history of the course and the town. Visit the golf museum, see the Claret Jug and enjoy the ambience of St Andrews

Next day we’ll take a 30 minute drive to Carnoustie, to play the demanding Championship course.  A great start to your tour.

Day 3/4 – Edinburgh and Lothian

Heading south to Edinburgh and the Lothian courses, we stay in Greywalls Hotel. Gullane

Muirfield is a strictly private club and without an express invitation from a member, its not easily accessible but they do have an agreement with Greywalls to offer their residents a very limited access to tee times.

Greywalls is a beautiful Manor House located on the course and from there we hope to play both Muirfield and Royal Musselborough.

Day 5/6/7 – East Coast

Day 5 will see us drive from the East coast of Scotland all the way to the west. Here we’ll stay at Trump Turnberry for just long enough to enjoy The Alisa course before heading to the classically beautiful Lochgreen hotel in Troon to play Prestwick and Troon.

As always this is a sample only – ultimately you’ll choose to do all these courses or maybe restrict your travel time and play a selection. The choice is yours.
