Hidden Gems

Your ‘Highland’ golfing experience can be extended to play a range of Scotland’s ‘hidden gems’ or by travelling to the north east coast to play Cruden Bay, Royal Aberdeen and Trump International.

The Highland Swing Accommodation

Playing the North Swing you’ll be offered a range of good quality accommodation.

You may choose to base yourself in Inverness and travel to each course from there, or perhaps travel to Dornoch and play Royal Dornoch; Castle Stuart; Tain and Brora from there, with Nairn as a final round before heading south.

Rocpool Reserve Hotel

Once a Georgian Terrace this is now a boutique hotel in central Inverness.

Glen Mhor Hotel

Situated close to the main shopping street and on the river, the Glen Mhor offers easy access to bars and restaurants in the city centre.

Kingsmill Hotel

Located on the edge of town this established hotel offers comfortable accommodation and a pool and spa for relaxation.

Dornoch Accommodation

Links House

With only 13 rooms, the Links House is a luxurious hotel. The bedrooms are large, many with views towards the sea.Highly rated by guests it is perfectly located for the first tee of Royal Dornoch.

Royal Golf Hotel

Completely refurbished in the past few years, this traditional 4 star hotel is a popular choice with golfers. Located directly above the first tee it’s rooms look out over the course and towards the sea.

Royal Golf Apartments

(Serviced Apartments) A new addition to the portfolio of the Royal Golf Hotel, these two bed apartments are very well appointed and comfortably furnished. Offering chill out space and with a lounge and kitchen to gather after your round, the apartment option is proving popular.

Sample Itinerary

Most of our clients who choose to play the North Swing already have a long list of courses they want to play.

Some will choose to split their week between The North and St Andrews or The North and Edinburgh but it is possible to spend the full week enjoying the North, both central and East coast.

Day 1 – on arrival

We will be at the airport to meet you, take care of your luggage and set off for The North – a 3 hour drive north of Edinburgh. Our first stop will be Dornoch, staying in either a great hotel situated on the first tee or in the modern apartments attached to the hotel.

Day 2 – Brora/Tain

Play Brora or Tain – both offer a good introduction to Links golf in its most natural form.

Day 3 – championship course, Royal Dornoch

You couldn’t be better located, from some rooms of the Royal Golf Hotel you can see the first tee just below. Enjoy the rugged beauty of this legendary course where golf began in 1616. Recognised as having one of the most outstanding front 9s in the world.

Day 4 – Inverness

Travel towards Inverness to play Castle Stuart. (Now Cabot Highlands). This course hugs the shoreline of the Moray Firth and offers wonderful golf in a spectacular setting

Day 5 – Nairn

Across the firth from Castle Stuart lies Nairn – boasting not one but two wonderful courses.

The older of the two is Nairn, dating back to 1887 and set out by Old Tom Morris. It boasts sea views from every hole, it is consistently rated highly in the worlds top 100.

Day 6 & 7 – North East Coast/South

At this point you may choose to relocate to the North East Coast where classics like Cruden Bay, Royal Aberdeen and Trump international await you 

Let us work with you to decide on which courses you want and complete your itinerary.

Alternatively you might choose to return south taking in Gleneagles on the way or simply have a night or two in the Edinburgh area. The choices are limited only by your imagination.

Day 8 – homeward bound

Let us transfer you to the airport, stay with you through check in and see you off safely.
