Only a 3 hour transfer from Dublin, many of our guests choose to combine a visit to one of the world’s finest cities with a stay in Killarney, allowing them to access revered courses such as Ballybunion, Old Head, Tralee, Watervillle and Lahinch. The options are limitless here and our experienced team will work with you every step of the way to create an itinerary that meets your every need.

The South West Swing Accommodation

Killarney Park Hotel

Family run, this hotel is in the perfect location in central Killarney. It is warm, classic and beautifully furnished and our first choice for tours that want to access Ballybunion, Waterville, The Dooks and Tralee.

It’s situation on the edge of the National Park offers the perfect rest day options in the Gap of Dunloe.

The Europe Hotel and Spa

Located outside town, what it lacks in centrality it gains in other ways. Situated right on the Lake, the views are quite stunning. The hotel Spa is second to none and altogether this is a sumptuous and luxurious hotel.

Killarney International

Location Location Location! This hotel is very well situated to allow guests immediate access to the busy little town of Killarney.

Kinsale – The Trident Hotel

This hotel is located on the waterfront of Kinsale harbour but within a short stroll of the cobblestone lanes that is at the heart of Kinsale.

Offering speciality shopping and a vibrant nightlife with traditional music oozing from every hostelry Kinsale is a real winner and only 20 minutes from Old Head.

Sample Itinerary

Here at The Links Connection we will always work with you at the planning stage before we arrive at your final itinerary. We know that by exploring your options and making suggestions or listening to your thoughts, we will end up with a week of golf and activities that meet your needs.

However the sample itinerary for a week in South West Ireland, shown below, will give you some idea of what your week with us might look like.

Day 1 – on arrival

We will be at the airport to meet you, take care of your luggage and whisk you to your hotel. From either Shannon airport or Dublin we will transfer you to Killarney, your base for the first part of your trip.

Day 2 – The Dooks

Drive from Killarney to The Dooks Golf Course. A gentle introduction to links golf on one of Irelands oldest courses. Set along the Dingle Bay it’s a perfect start as your first round of golf. 

We will collect you and deliver you to the course, stay with you while you warm up and see you tee off on the first. We will take photographs and be there to see you return on the 18th hole.

Day 3 – championship course, Ballybunion

A championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones.

We will collect you from your accommodation and drive 60 minutes to the famous Ballybunion Links much loved by Tiger Woods, Tom Watson and Mark O’meara.

Day 4 – sightseeing, Gap of Dunloe

Take a day off from golf and don’t miss a day travelling through the Gap of Dunloe by Horse drawn carts known as jaunting cars and driven by Jarveys. After negotiating some of the most breathtaking landscapes, you’ll return to Killarney via the lakes on an open boat.

Day 5 – Waterville – Where Champions Tread!

No less than 40 of the worlds greatest, from Sam Snead onwards, have challenged these links. Much loved by Payne Stewart who accepted the Captaincy of Waterville just before his death.

Travel with us to the coast to enjoy the wonderful Waterville Golf Links.

Day 6 – Change of scenery

Let us relocate you from Killarney to Kinsale – a beautiful, charismatic town on the coast just south of Cork.

We can stop en route to visit the Jameson’s distillery and Blarney Castle before getting to know Kinsale which comes to life as the sun sets. Think trad music from every pub, great food and a vibe all of its own.

Day 7 – Old HEad

Spectacular!

This course must be on everyone’s wish list – it is breathtaking. A narrow spit of land surrounded on all sides by the Atlantic Ocean, Old Head will challenge and thrill you. A fitting end to your stay with us in South West Ireland.

Day 8 – homeward bound

We will collect you and transfer you to the airport, stay with you through check in and see you off safely.
