Hidden Gems

When visitors travel to play golf here, they often have a list of courses they’d love to play. These courses have been promoted by friends in the clubhouse or those who’ve had the good fortune of visiting before and our clients can name all of the wonderful and high profile destinations –  the famous Championship courses and Open venues.

But Scotland – and Ireland –  has much more to offer

There are courses – Hidden Gems – that can offer the best of both worlds – an amazing round of golf and often at a fraction of the price. So wherever you choose to be based, we can offer some undiscovered treasures you may choose to add to your trip.

In the St Andrews area there’s Crail Balcomie course just minutes along the coast from Kingsbarns. Travel inland to Scottscraig or Ladybank or across the Tay to discover Panmure or Monifieth – both neighbours of Carnoustie and every bit as challenging and delightful.

Boat of Garten

In the north discover Boat of Garten, Kingussie and Grantown-on-Spey, or in Aberdeen there’s Murcar, Cruden Bay and Peterhead

And in the Edinburgh area, look at Kilspindie and North Berwick’s sister course, The Glen.

You’ll be spoiled for choice!

Cruden Bay Golf Course

Located twenty four miles north of Aberdeen and eight miles south of Peterhead lies Cruden Bay Golf Club.

With views the North Sea on most holes, Cruden Bay offers an internationally famous golfing experience – old fashioned links golf at its best – on one of the best links courses in Scotland.

Opened in 1889, and designed by Old Tom Morris, the course demands skill in shot selection and placement but set against a backdrop of subtly contoured greens and magnificent panoramic views, it is a fabulous experience for all.

Port Salon Golf Course

In Ireland once again there are the courses made famous by critical acclaim and celebrity approval, and rightly so – but again you don’t have to do more than scratch the surface to discover more.

Both North and South there are courses that offer golfers of all abilities a really good deal and an exceptional experience.

Look at Castlerock, a neighbour of Portrush or Ballyliffen and Port Salon en route to Rosapenna. Discover Carne, Enniscrone and Galway Bay – you could vacation here for a decade and keep finding new delights.
