Corky 2025
When our dear friend Corky Ellis asked for our help we agreed without hesitation. Corky is an avid fan of links golf and links golf in Scotland in particular.
He has visited many times and each time he comes, he just loves to play courses that are new to him and often those that are not on the average tourists’ radar. But this next trip was a little different.
He wanted to reunite with three old college pals and bring them to Scotland for a week of golf and history. His friends really weren’t as keen golfers as Corky so we needed to balance the week.

After discussion we agreed that we’d start in St Andrews. They played The Castle Course in St Andrews and the next day we arranged a guided walk of the town using Fergus – the best guide we know. They loved their time with him as he showed them the ruined Cathedral, the ancient University buildings and the Castle.
They then travelled to Elie, had lunch in the clubhouse and played the course.
Corky was delighted – he just loved it.

From there they travelled to Gullane for a few days, playing Gullane itself and The Glen course in North Berwick. While The Glen isn’t as good as the North Berwick championship course, it was more forgiving for the ability range of the group.
Finally the guys headed back to Edinburgh for two nights, where they explored the city with all it has to offer. This trip might have been far from the golf intensive one Corky would have chosen for himself but it ticked the box for the group and they loved it.

The Links Connection
This is not the standard Scotland or Ireland golf trip service company, where you are met at the terminal, handed an itinerary, and sent on your way driving on the wrong side of the road.
Brian and Marilyn, besides being the nicest people we have met, organize every detail of the trip. They know every course, especially the hidden gems, and are very connected in getting tee times at the great venues.
Brian and Marilyn will accompany you, making sure clubs show up at your destination and are cleaned and packed for the next day. Brian often walks the 18, stays in the background but is there to offer advice, as he knows each course.
They are constantly there for you, but in the background. They offer a higher level product. The trip will go much more smoothly with their service.
I have used their service twice, and the trip is more problem-free, and far more rewarding.
